23 & 25 The Calls history
For an incredible 165 years, 23 and 25 The Calls housed the yacht chandlers W.H. Carr and Sons, a supplier of ropes and canvases since 1850. Initially supplying goods for barges on the River Aire they later diversified, crafting everything from wagon covers to pup tents and marquees. ✨
Most notably in 1953 they manufactured and supplied the rope ladders that were used in the first ever successful ascent of Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.👏 (photographed below)
We gave 23 The Calls a new life by bringing it up to date with a sensitive conversion into office space, whilst retaining original features throughout; it is home of digital marketing agency @enjoy_digital .🌟
YDG took a similar approach with 25 The Calls, transforming it into stunning office accommodation over 4 floors with a careful refurbishment that blends the building’s historic roots with high spec modern functionality. Today, digital marketing agency @mediaworksuk has made 25 The Calls their base in Leeds.✨
