In 1989 YDG delivered a new eating destination in Leeds centred on a historic courtyard. 

With new construction creating a 60 cover restaurant and bar, YDG ran operations for 12 years before transferring the site to new operators and retaining the freehold. The original Shear’s Yard was famed for its jazz nights, the restaurant was subsequently known as Livebait, and from 2013 is now operated in the Shear’s Yard name again by the excellent team behind Arts Cafe.
