Mural on Wharf Street
We’re incredibly proud of our Wharf Street mural, a vibrant testament to the fight against urban pollution. In 2020, renowned artist @insa_gram returned to Leeds to create his first major city centre artwork. 🧑🎨🌍
Standing 13 meters high and 11 meters wide, this masterpiece features a rainbow sunset gradient and bold lines, conveying a powerful message about environmental stewardship. It’s a beautiful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the planet and nurture future generations. 🌱✨
Collaborating with curator Tina Ziegler, INSA crafted a mural that’s carbon-conscious and waste-aware. Painted with Graphenstone Biosphere paint, it avoids toxic components and actively reduces air pollution, absorbing as much CO2 as an adult tree in three years! 🌳💨
We’ve installed new lighting to showcase the mural at night, so train passengers heading to York and Edinburgh can catch a glimpse. 🚉✨
Special thanks to @leedsbid for their support and @insa_gram for producing this amazing piece of work!
